Great Reading On A Monday

A happy Monday morning to all. 2 great articles in two Toronto papers , both worth checking out., one is really old, the old is from today.

The first isn’t much of a surprise as it’s in the Toronto Sun, which is pretty balanced when it comes to reporting. This is as strongly written an opinion that I think you will find:

“But Harper was precise about our moral obligations, stating that whenever anti-Semitism raises its head Canada will take a stand against it, and then stand tall in defending Israel’s right to exist.

His speech should be mandatory reading in every university.

And for every Canadian with blinkers.”

Meanwhile, the 2nd story deals with airport security and it does come from a rare source, the Toronto Star. The store preaching the successes of Israeli security at their airports is well worth the time and makes me, a frequent traveler jealous of their systems over there. Funny that it took a writer like Cathal Kelly, whom I recognize from some sports work he has done to get this type of story done. Note the story is old, but the reality is nothing has changed at least over here:

“Israelis, unlike Canadians and Americans, don’t take s— from anybody. When the security agency in Israel (the ISA) started to tighten security and we had to wait in line for — not for hours — but 30 or 40 minutes, all hell broke loose here. We said, ‘We’re not going to do this. You’re going to find a way that will take care of security without touching the efficiency of the airport.”
